In September 2026, BCAMCNC provided onsite after sales support for a customer in Bahrain using a 2030DL 5 axis CNC router for foam machining. The service covered CAM preparation, tool setup, controller operation, and practical machining.
The objective was to help the customer’s technicians understand the machining workflow and operate the equipment independently. Training connected programming tasks with practical machine operation, using a floral foam relief as a working example.
Training Around a Real Foam Machining Project
Connecting each step to an actual workpiece
The floral relief featured overlapping petals, curved surfaces, and recessed details. These features provided a useful training application, allowing the technicians to follow the relationship between the digital model, the machining program, and the shape being cut.
Working through a real part gave each training step a clear purpose. Model preparation, tool measurement, and controller operation became parts of one connected process that the customer’s team could understand and practice.
CAM Preparation and Machining Simulation

Understanding the program before cutting
At the programming workstation, BCAMCNC’s technician worked with the customer’s team on the floral model, toolpath review, and machining simulation.
This stage helped the operators understand how the cutting tool would approach different areas of the workpiece. It also connected the geometry on the screen with the movements required at the machine.
For five-axis foam machining, preparation requires attention to tool access and clearance around the spindle head. Reviewing the machining sequence before cutting helps operators identify areas that require closer inspection.
Tool Measurement and Machine Setup

Linking tool data with machine operation
Practical instruction at the 2030DL included tool measurement using a tool-setting device and operation of the CNC control panel.
Tool measurement establishes the relationship between the programmed tool position and the actual cutting tool. The customer’s technicians practiced this step as part of preparing the machine for machining.
The training also connected controller commands with machine movement. By participating directly in the setup process, the technicians developed familiarity with the equipment and the tasks required before running a job.
Practical Five Axis Foam Machining

Following the process from model to machined part
The floral relief was machined from a foam block, allowing the customer’s team to follow the cutting process as the three-dimensional form developed.
During machining, the spindle head worked at an inclined angle to reach different areas of the relief. This demonstrated how tool orientation supports access to curved features and recessed surfaces.
The technicians could compare the machined shape with the CAM model and observe how the tool position related to the surrounding material. This practical experience brought the programming and operating stages together.
Customer Technicians Achieved Independent Operation
Practical knowledge transferred to the customer’s team
Following the onsite service, the customer’s technicians were able to operate the 2030DL independently. The customer expressed satisfaction with the technical support and the training outcome.
The value of the visit extended beyond completing a demonstration workpiece. The customer’s team gained practical operating knowledge that they could apply in their own workshop.
For this Bahrain project, combining CAM instruction with tool setup and machine operation helped establish a clearer workflow from a digital model to a machined foam part.
